Dean's Message
Welcome to the Faculty of Computer Science and IT
I am honoured to be leading the Faculty of computer science and Information Technology at such a technologically advanced time, when the application of latest technology is crucial in surviving and competing in the knowledge economy. The faculty is steadily growing, adding new disciplines and specializations.
The Faculty of computer science and Information Technology, which was founded in 2010, seek to achieve a superior level of excellence in academic research and teaching. It continuously improves and evolves the academic programs it offers to students in order to keep up with the high pace of technological changes. Currently, the faculty offers programs that lead to the bachelor’s degree in the following fields: general computer science and IT and Islamic and IT department from collaboration between faculty of computer science & IT and faculty of education. As well as we propose as soon as possible to add the faculty to a Master degree in Computer Science.
Several laboratories equipped with state of-the-art computer hardware and software ware used to facilitate the educational process in the Faculty.
The primary objective of the faculty is to graduate well-educated and competent students into professionals, who are capable of playing a major role in the field of information technology whether in Somalia or in the Africa region as well as in the world. The faculty tries to maintain strong ties with the local IT institutions and companies in order to understand the market needs of future IT professionals. The faculty retains outstanding faculty members and staff who help it to achieve its goals.
As the dean of the Faculty of computer science and Information Technology, I look forward to collaborating with our stakeholders to continue building powerful and effective educational programs.
