Welcome to the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery
The Faculty of Medicine Surgery provides a well-structured undergraduate medicine program that is equivalent to the international standards; and the faculty is the largest faculty in Jazeera University.
The faculty consists of 9 departments with dedicated staffs that are committed to medical education and all with the aim of producing competent physicians in patient care and contribute or lead the advances of medicine locally, regionally and globally.
Our teaching program is problem based learning and clinically oriented although didactic lectures and laboratory sessions are still core part of our teaching methodologies. Early clinical exposure is also an integral part in our curriculum.
Graduates of our faculty have impressive records at our society and we strive to meet the social expectations of every student enrolled in our faculty.

Brief History
The faculty of medicine & Surgery of Jazeera University has been established in 2010 with 110 students. Since then the total number of undergraduates enrolled in the faculty has increased to more than 1000 students in the academic year 2019-2020. Currently, the total number of graduates from the faculty since its establishment has reached 407 students.

To be a golden benchmark for academic excellence in Somalia as well as the region by training and producing physicians that have high level knowledge and discipline.
Mission
To provide highly competent physicians to the community through an up-to date high quality educational programs ranging from scholarly activities to research. And to collaborate and engage the community and health agencies to contribute the standards of health care in the country as well as globally.
